Delete your Receiptly account

You can permanently delete your Receiptly account and the personal data tied to it. The fastest way is from inside the app — but if you can't install or open the app, this form sends the same request to our privacy team.

Fastest: delete from inside the app

Open Receiptly → Settings → Delete account. The action is instant and irreversible. Both buyer and merchant accounts support this.

What we delete

  • Your name, email, phone, PIN, and profile photo
  • Bank account details (for merchants)
  • Buyer wallet contents and ledger entries linkable to you
  • Push tokens, device IDs, and session data
  • Cached receipt previews stored against your account

What we must retain

  • Anonymised receipt records — Nigerian tax & AML rules require us to keep transaction records for up to 7 years.
  • Withdrawal and payout audit trails (Paystack reference codes only) for the same retention period.
  • Fraud-prevention hashes of disputed receipts, so the same receipt can't be re-disputed under a new account.

Retained data cannot be re-linked to you after deletion — your identifiers are removed and replaced with one-way hashes.

Request deletion by web

We'll confirm the request by email within 7 days. To prevent someone else from deleting your account, your request must come from the email or phone on the account.
